For the past three years, I've been working on a musical idea. The product of that idea is titled VORTEX. Which stands for Violin, Oboe, Recorder, Trumpet and Extra instruments.

All the music for VORTEX is meant to be quirky and fitting the nature of such a unique group of instruments. All pieces are short and off-centre to what I normally compose. I hope you find them idiosyncratic and affecting.

One of the upshots of this idea is that I hope I can form a group with the name of VORTEX consisting of the four stock players in the group and other extra players added when the compositions require it. So, a small chamber group of an unusual combination.

I invite other composers to create works for VORTEX. The style of music is your choice as long as you use the standard combination of instruments.

If anyone is interested in helping form this group, I'm here and waiting.
